Important Work that Nobody Did

Business was improving, so I hired 4 people.  They were brothers and sisters from the same family.  They had very unusual names.  Their names were Everybody, Somebody, Anybody and Nobody.  Why a mother would name her kids Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody is beyond me, but who am I to question?

There was some important work to do, and I told Somebody to do it.

Everybody knew it had to be done.  Anybody could have done it.  Anybody and Everybody were happy that Somebody was finally going to do it.  Well, Somebody told Everybody that Nobody wanted to do it, and did Anybody care if Nobody did it.  Well apparently Everybody assumed that Nobody cared, and Somebody wondered if Anybody cared.  All I wanted was to get the work done.

There was all that talking going on, and you know what happened?  Nobody did the work!

Anybody could have done it.  Somebody was supposed to do it.  Everybody knew it needed to be done. But Nobody did it. NOBODY did it. 

Suddenly, Everybody was mad.  Surely Somebody should have done what Anybody could have done but Nobody did.  It was very simple.  

The time for pay raises came and guess who got a raise?  Nobody!

So here is my advice to you my friends:

Be a person who is willing to do what Nobody wants to do, and you will do very well in life.
